Giving away ‘freebies’ isn’t generous. We’re all wise now to the ‘free’ accessory ‘worth’ ££s, or the market trader’s escalation of value – throwing in extra after extra until you begin to question the integrity of the original commodity in the first place.
No. Generosity comes from transcending the transaction, bringing your whole human self to keeping the Promise that you’ve made, and by so doing, recognising and acknowledging the whole human self of the person you’re keeping it for, making the experience unique for both of you.
